Born in Milford, Delaware and reared in a Christian home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Tarawa “TC” Cartwright engaged in the ministry of service to others at an early age. Alongside his parents, Pastor Carlton and Charlotta Cartwright and ten siblings, he served in many church departments including the choir, maintenance, music, and usher auxiliaries, all of which prepared him for the many facets of funeral service.

As a young man, TC grew a strong interest in funeral service by observing local funeral directors such as Mr. Samuel Cooper from Cooper and Humble Funeral Company, Inc. And Rev. Lewis Watson of Lewis N. Watson funeral home as they provided compassionate care to families during funeral services. While attending Goldey Beacom College, TC had the opportunity to minister through music for various local churches in the greater Wilmington area. He was recruited by Mr. Justen Wright of House of Wright Mortuary and Cremation Services to become their in-house organist for funerals. In March of 2010, TC had the distinguished honor of playing the organ for his first funeral service, the matriarch of the House of Wright Mortuary, Mrs. Jacqueline L. Dorsey Wright Evans. Little did he know, that experience would catapult him into a lifetime career in the funeral industry.

At the House of Wright Mortuary, T.C. served in various capacities which allowed him to learn the aspects of funeral service–from ceremony details and transportation to community relations, office management, and operations. While with the House of Wright, he received countless positive reviews and was often requested by families to orchestrate their loved one’s final wishes.

In 2015, TC joined the G. Choice Funeral Chapel, Inc. staff, a firm owned and operated by Mrs. Gloria Choice. Using his experience in customer service and community relations, TC worked tirelessly in the North Philadelphia community to further enhance the G. Choice Funeral Chapel client family relations. His dedication, hard work and professionalism has been acknowledged by families all over Philadelphia. Although TC has loved serving in the Greater Philadelphia community, his heart and passion has always been in Southern Delaware, where his late grandfather, Bishop Clarence Cartwright, left a rich legacy of serving the community alongside his grandmother, Mother Dorothy Cartwright, and extended family.

In November 2022, TC’s lifelong dream became a reality as he began the process of opening a funeral home in Milford, Delaware. In February 2023, Cartwright Family Mortuary opened its doors to serve Delaware communities. With a foundation of distinguished service and compassionate care, the Cartwright family offers a new generation of funeral service to the Southern Delaware community. Their vision is to provide every family with the same dignity and respect they would afford their own family in their time of need.

TC is an active member of the National Funeral Director's Association and the National Funeral Director and Morticians Association, International Cemetery Cremation and Funeral Association and spends countless hours of community service in the Philadelphia and Delaware areas.

In addition to serving in funeral service, TC is also the senior pastor of Resurgence Worship Cathedral in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has a love for classic cars, Southern home cooked meals, and family. He is the blessed father of nine children with whom he plans to build the Cartwright Family Mortuary legacy: Londynn Cartwright, Alana Cartwright, Tyree Coleman, Darien Cartwright, Asa Cartwright, Journee Ashley, MaxMorgan Cartwright, Tarawa Cartwright, II, and TaraMadison Cartwright.

Britni’ is a charismatic, educated and God fearing millennial.

As a Philadelphia native, she is a graduate of the Philadelphia school system and earned a master's in Business Administration, a baccalaureate degree and an applied science degree from Wilmington University, Kutztown University and American Academy McAllister Institute, respectively.

As a modern day Philanthropist-in-the-making, her gifts and talents support and influence the next generation. Her administrative expertise is displayed through her current Presidency and business finesse as the third generation director and owner of the 43 year old G. Choice Funeral Chapel Inc as well as principal for Cartwright Family Mortuary.

Her entrepreneurial mindset has afforded her the following professional multi-state licenses: Funeral Director, Insurance Agent and Notary Public. Additionally, Britni is the CEO of her own fashion merchandising business as well as Heirloom Foundation, a Non-profit company offering services for the wealth of others.

Britni' is a member of the National Funeral Director's Association and the National Funeral Director and Morticians Association. She has made it her social responsibility to give back to her community throughout the year.

Britni 's most fulfilling role she enjoys is as an incredible “doting mother” of three intelligent and future world changers, MaxMorgan, Tarawa, II and TaraMadison.
